A small town of citizens who are filled with a community spirit  

Warrenville was founded in 1833 when a family from New York decided to move West for a new start. The first establishments was an inn-tavern that was built by the founder, Julius Warren. The tavern still stands today and was renovated in 2002. After the inn was established the town continued to grow with railroads and stagecoach lines running through the town. For some time the town maintained its rural lifestyle of farming communities, but towards the 1970's to 1980's Warrenville saw population growth due to people moving West of the city of Chicago. Today, Warrenville is known for their shopping and dinning choices and also for their bronze sculpture located on the public buildings. Residents also enjoy the many parks and forest preserves of Warrenville or if they feel like relaxing or going hiking they can do so at the Ferry Creek Wetlands Restoration.The top employers in Warrenville today are; Navistar, Sonova and Cantera, a limestone quarry, which is the city's largest employer.
