Streamwood provides balanced growth and a commitment to community-oriented public service
Streamwood was incorporated as a town in 1957 and is considered one of the three communities that make up the "Tri Village", which include Bartlett, Hanover Park and Streamwood. In it's earlier days, the town was home to dairy farmers, but soon after the war, what was once a farming town slowly turned into an up and coming area. There was a boom in the housing market, which brought many people to the Streamwood area to purchase homes. The builders of the new Streamwood homes promised the residents a "Town of Tomorrow." In recent years, Streamwood has had a rapid increase in the retail growth of the town. In addition to the commercial developments, Streamwood also has many parks and recreation centers to keep residents busy. With the more recent commercial growth in Streamwood this has opened up more job opportunities for the residents of this town.
