Schaumburg

Progress Through Thoughtful Planning

The village of Schaumburg once started out as a completely German township in the late 1870’s and over time has developed into a diversified place to live. Schaumburg has tried to create a more sustainable environment for their residents to live in and is participating in two recycling programs. They are known for their large shopping development called the Streets of Woodfield. This development was started in 1991 and redeveloped in 2010. It’s completed with restaurants, retailers, a theater and a Whole Foods Fresh Market. Schaumburg has so much to offer, from their wide range of shopping developments, including Woodfield Mall, to their many choices of dining experiences, Schaumburg has something for everyone. They are also home to roughly  5, 000 businesses, in which Motorola, Zurich American Insurance and School District 54 are of the top employers, employing individuals in the thousands.
