Becoming known as a “green town,” being environmentally friendly
Pingree Grove has been known as a town of farmlands, but with the current growth has developed into an up and coming area. It is expected that in the next decade with most farmlands developing into new housing units, the population will triple. Pingree Grove is striving to become a “green town” being that they are environmentally friendly. Over the past years Pingree Grove's residential community has seen rapid growth in the housing developments. Pingree Grove is a great place for families to raise their children, the town offers the openess of the land, but also gives residents the feel of being close to everything.

In 2010, Pingree Grove was hit by a 3.8 magnitude earthquake that was felt in Madison, WI. This was the first earthquake in Northern Illinois since 1999.
