Geneva is known as a quiet, charming, restful place to live. Ever since Geneva was developed in the 1800’s, the town has been known as a quaint town. By 1840 Geneva was starting to develop and grow, but even before the town was incorporated it was already home to a courthouse, a jail, a classroom, two hotels plus more. Geneva is known for their small shops downtown as well as the historical architecture that can be seen as you drive through the neighborhoods of Geneva. To keep entertained residents as well as non-residents can attend one of the many yearly festivals and events, take a bike ride on the trail along the Fox River, watch the Kane County Cougars and participate in the many recreational activities offered. Geneva offers a wide selection of dining experiences that offer outdoor seating in the warmer months. There is something to please everyone in. Geneva is home to many professionals who commute to Chicago on the Metra Rail, which is located right in downtown Geneva. Major employers in Geneva include Burgess-Norton Manufacturing Co., Johnson Controls, Inc. and Peacock Engineering Inc.
