At the Rivers Bend
In 1835 the first tavern store was established in Dundee and became an important part of the town during this time. Into the 1900's Dundee had remained a small town until the 1970's when Spring Hill Mall was developed. The town saw economic growth and opened up new job opportunities for Dundee residents. Today, Dundee is still known as a quaint place to live, with a small-town feel. Dundee includes many historical sites throughout the downtown area and residential neighborhoods. The town has something to offer for everyone; Main Street is a central focus of Dundee where you can visit specialty shops as well as walk along the Fox River Trail. Every mid-September, Dundee holds the much anticipated community celebration called Heritage Fest and is home to the well-known amusement park, Santa’s Village, which first opened in 1959. The newest attraction in Dundee includes Randall Oaks Recreation center, which is set for their grand opening on August 25th.

There are reports of structures in Dundee providing refuge to slaves on the Underground Railroad.
